Snapshots

I want this blog to be genuine. I want it to scream me. I know there is so much more I could say and this page will probably be edited over and over but here are some snapshots of my favorites/fun facts.

1. My dog Zoe (a Brittany spaniel) is my best buddy. I miss her terribly when I am at school. She is 10.5 years old but acts like she is still a puppy. Everyone always asks how old our puppy is. (They need to look beyond those cute looks to the little trouble maker she is!) I mean look at this face.

2.I am super close with my mom. She is my rock and has supported me even in the tough times. Again, my sister and I are spitting images of her. My favorite are our walks when I am home. I talk, text and email her daily. (Such a mama’s girl)

3. I am not a huge meat eater BUT love seafood. My dad is vegetarian so I grew up with a lot of seafood and let’s just say I fell in love. I can’t even list my favorite – there are way too many…shrimp, crab, scallops, lobster, steamers….

4. Falmouth Cape Cod holds a special place in my heart. I spent every summer there with my family and even as we got older we still make Falmouth a tradition each summer, just for a shorter stay. We go so that it coincides with the Falmouth Road Race. I remember being younger and watching my aunt, dad, mom, uncles all run this race. I always said, one day that will be me. Now with four races under my belt I will continue this tradition even as the older relatives start dropping out.

5. If you need a good read, let me recommend my three favorites. Gaining, Chasing Redbird and The Perks of being a Wallflower. I reread these books each year.

Again, snapshots. There is so much more but feel free to ask questions. I will be sure to answer all of them!

  1. Hello Alex, my name is Helen! I found your blog through Lexi from You, Me & A World to See. She is my roommate (I’m H)! Love your blog so far and look forward to maybe meeting you at some point in the future. I’m from Maine so we share New England roots. And I LOVE seafood. I’m also thinking about majoring in Psychology at Georgetown. I’m interested to hear about your current job b/c I’m interested in education.

    • Yay! I love new readers and new blogs to follow. I am going to head over to yours, you must come to our next meet up especially if you are in DC! A seafood lover, man you really are stacking up! I would love to have you pick my brain about my job, too bad you haven’t graduated because we are hiring! feel free to email me anytime at therunwithin@gmail.com.

  2. You dog is so cute! Ah! My old upstairs neighbors had a Brittney. He used him for a hunting dog.

Hey Alex! Just came across your blog tonight and love it. We just got a Brittany (he is 6 months old)… we were wondering how long his energy would last. Looks like we have a while :) Did you ever run with yours?

    • Oh mine is 11 and still the energy of a puppy. Slowed down around 10 but such a puppy at heart. they never calm down to say the least. I did run with her but honestly she was too fast! we took her to a dog park so she could be off leash, it is the only way she would tire out ever. she would run for over an hour in circles around us!
