I am in a fight with blogging right now. A pretty passive one but you get it. I used to spend a considerable amount of time blogging but more so reading blogs. These days, not so much. It stinks because that passive reader I was four years when I started was like the perfect no stress way of enjoying blogs. On the other hand though, I love to write and just flush out thoughts at the end of the day. I also love being able to interact and engage with – Because I can honestly say that many bloggers have become people I consider really good friends, really REALLY good friends. I can’t help but want to support fellow awesome bloggers by showing them some comment love. Does this make sense?
Ok, just that ramble I needed to get out there before I actually go radio silent for a good week or so stretch. I think a lot of bloggers feel this same way but don’t talk about it openly because hey, it points back to that idea that everyone ‘blogs for themselves’. A lie. Kind of. I mean who doesn’t want readers? Who doesn’t feel the pressure to comment? We are all just human. It is a tough balance to strike.
Let’s talk Vegas. I have been getting lots of questions about it. I will put it out there, this is a work trip. Yes, we will be doing no work on the trip (pure fun) but at the same time it isn’t a weekend in Vegas with your friends. It is your coworkers, your bosses, the people you see every day. Makes sense in the fact that alcohol is not paid for by the company. Aka act in line. I am not a big drinker, I enjoy a few drinks every now and then but spending my own money on it, eh not so much. Knock me for this, but I probably won’t be drinking much unless it is paid for.
BUT it is going to be a blast. Besides the fact I leave Friday at 4 am and then leave Monday at 7 am to only arrive back in DC at 1 am. A full freaking day of travel due to the time change. Ouch.
Oh gosh, totally derailed. Back to the fun. What is provided is two meals a day (apparently they don’t think we eat haha) and a hotel room in the Aria. That means that the in-between time is all up to us to plan. I won’t lie, financially I won’t be breaking the bank. My friends and I have kind of planned out what the three days would look like. Want a sneak peak?
Friday night All N 1 party bus – a sweet deal through Living Social where for $50 you get a bus to take to three clubs, a booze cruise, Hard Rock and its all paid for. 9 pm – 3 am. Whoa this grandma may die. Side note, the instructions for this bus are hilarious. The dress code says females must wear heels and no shorts, guys can’t wear v-necks. Goodness.
Saturday we hope to either go hiking, explore the strip or sit by the pool. Saturday night we were thinking some kind of show – either Calvin Harris or Cirque Du Soleil. Again, killer deal roughly $20 for each.
Sunday will be a low key day and night because of the full Monday of travel.
Not your typical Vegas trip but none the less a freaking blast. You can’t beat a fully paid trip for work. I doubt I will take pictures. I doubt I will do a recap. So you next you will hear from me will be on the flip side when I am back to routine.
Question: Anything you are looking forward to this coming weekend?
