- For the first time, these last three days has forced out my winter jacket. Kind of strange that it took till now to bring it out, I actually rarely used it at college in VA. - I am slowly becoming a regular. I bet there are a few of you out there that have that coffee shop regular status. For me, let’s just say mine are less glamorous. Ready? CVS guy – I am always on the hunt for my vitamins are on sale, so I will go into this local one and not buy anything. I just check for the sales. Well he torments me, like blocks the door, asks me about my crazy colored running shoes. He is young so I know he is joking with me. Yet, I get embarrassed every single time. #pleaseletmebe Cleaning guy - I always see him coming back from my workouts and then again as I leave the building for work. The funny part is that is usually about 15 minutes apart because I am not a true girl and it takes me 10 minutes to shower and get ready. He is always baffled by my quick costume change. #iswearishower Metro girl - Do you have these people? Like the ones you see everyday at the same location yet you never acknowledged each other? She gives me a major bitch face so I usually don’t even try. #whatchaknowaboutme Paper man - At each metro stop there are people who hand out free papers. Well, there is one overly friendly man that I pass when I am running at 6 am. I see him on my way out and on my back. He is always grinning and chasing after me as a joke as I go by. Awe, CVS guy wants some Alex in his lifeeee :] Oh girl, it takes me about 10 minutes to get ready too. I shower, brush my hair (sometimes), throw on some clothes & out the door I go. I hate doing hair, so it only happens from time to time. Oh man and when I have to shave.. that’s the worst. Such an annoyance & throws everything off, Ha!
I know, shaving adds a good extra five minutes. that five minutes is a lot. I have getting ready down to a science so that I can do it easily without even thinking. Bam out the door.
I totally get the CVS thing, I actually looove drug stores.. I love wandering around and finding all the little random things they sell… I usually end up leaving spending way more than is necessary.
I actually think they are the least expensive, plus so many coupons with my card. But I am the same way I love to look around them

It’s not hard to be when the town is practically population: zero. I can’t wait to run outside with you either! It’s going to be so much nicer than the dread mill. Oh, and my roommate and I don’t have cable and it works out fine. We bought a cord to plug our computer into the TV so we just stream everything online.

You watch Degrassi?! I haven’t in a few years because I didn’t have the channel and then once I did, I didn’t know who any of the people were. But I was obsessed with it when I lived at home. And I totally agree with you about the legal pad. Mine is blue right now, but something about writing lists/notes on there makes me feel much more productive.
Oh girl the new season is dare I say BOMB. So freaking good, when I am home I got caught up so now I am sad I now longer can watch it on Friday nights (yes it shows how much of a life I have on Fridays) Legal pads are something I grew up with because my dad was the same way about using them, he doesn’t have a computer so all of his work stuff are on legal pads. Oh myyyy, the CVS guy is so awkward! (I mean, it’s cute and endearing since he’s just goofing around, but still. I’d be super embarrassed.) And girl, I hear you on the Metro issue. There’s a woman consistently on my train each morning who has the cutest baby boy I’ve ever seen. He’s about a year old, and I always wind up standing next to them – but she throws serious shade my way when I try to smile at her kid, so now I just stand there awkwardly while employing every ounce of self-control to keep from smiling and waving at this adorable child. She probably still thinks I’m a total creeper. Sigh.

I can totally relate on the regular thing! Except not with the CVS guy because 1) I don’t have a CVS guy and 2) that store is darn expensive, so I don’t shop there. However, I definitely run into the same people on the CTA all the time. Particular regulars include Attractive Mystery Man (who is still attractive, even though I later discovered he’s gay. TRAGEDY. I see him 1-2x per week), Angry Smoker Woman (who I saw for the first time in a LONG time this morning), Slightly Creepy Dunkin Donuts Coffee Man (haven’t seen him in a while, either, though I believe I saw him on Monday?), and Super Obnoxious Questionably Dressed Insurance Girl (who works for an insurance company–I know this because I see what office she goes into–and makes interesting clothing choices. Like on Monday, for example, when it was 0 degrees and she wore a knee length skirt and knee high socks. WHY? There are better ways to dress for that kind of weather, woman!). I also get my daily RedEye (the free commuter paper in Chicago) from my friendly RedEye Hander Outer every Wednesday-Friday. Lots of people don’t take a RedEye from him, but I always take one so I have something to read on my commute and am sure to say thanks, because I really appreciate him.
AND THEN, of course, there is my favorite regular of all: my Floppy Eared Fwend, the dog I see being walked by his/her owner usually once or twice a week now. I saw my Floppy Eared Fwend today and discovered that he has BOOTS! And then I died. Too, too, too cute. I can’t even handle it. You’ve got to understand, this is literally the cutest dog I’ve ever seen in my life just naturally–even cuter than my dog, who I love very very much because he’s my bestest fwend in da whole wide world–so when his/her owner puts a little bitty jacket and boots on the Floppy Eared Fwend, I just can’t handle teh cute. Cannot handle it one little bit.

I feel the same way, i hate those tweets that just tweet random hashtags of every single food item that is in the meal, along with the campaign, and the company. makes me rage like whoa. I like hashtags but in small amounts. I love those random regulars that just really make you laugh, your stories always crack me up. I swear you could write a book about your life, i would be entertained at least. Wait CVS has like the cheapest stuff. I go there a lot more because I had a gift card there (well duh) but they have killer sales. I love how I can get stuff there for nothing compared to other places.
Oh man, I can’t believe how much I DON’T miss having TV! Getting rid of it is seriously the best non-investment ever (plus, between Hulu, friends you can bum Neftlix passwords off of, and TV network sites, you can usually still catch all the regular shows anyway!)

four years of college in Virginia made me a total weather wuss too!! My parents make fun of me because all Christmas break I walked around the house in my down jacket, I was so cold. It was only like in the 30s but they’re used to i so they don’t keep the house warm….blehhhh lol. Also whenever you mention your friend “A” I think of pretty little liars haha even though on that show “A” is quite the opposite of a friend! Glad you decided to choose food over cable…I actually got rid of the cable in my apartment too, because I watch most of my TV on iTunes and DVD….also why I don’t pay for internet because I can get it in the downstairs lobby. Makes my rent about 100 cheaper a month and its SO worth it!

In talking about your outdoor winter track experience in MA, in the heart of winter a couple of years ago, I took a lifeguarding course at school. I still do not know how I walked back to the dorm with soaking wet hair without turning into an ice cube or thinking twice about it! Maybe I was more tolerant then?
