That is what my dog does when she is pumped so I might as well just follow her example. It is a cute look, I swear. This week was so darn long for some reason so while today may be a little nerve racking, I am ready for it to be here.
Confession…I had to talk to myself in the mirror this am. I keep psyching myself out about having to teach this morning. I am not a teacher, I don’t teach at this job. But when one of our BUILD teachers is absent, we have to step in to teach the class. Because two teachers are out, my boss has to go one place and I have to go ALONE to another. I have not done this before and have to say teaching ninth graders intimidates me, especially about business. Well here goes my business teaching skills.
Confession… reading comments yesterday kept bringing a smile to my face. I love hearing how everyone started their blog and it reminded me why I really need this place. I started this blog at the end of college, the end of four years that left me kind of without a connection to anything or anyone. I was looking for an outlet, a support system, a place I could always turn to. I found that.
Confession… I geeked out at work. I got an email yesterday morning saying that the school we have the mentor session at that night was cancelling all after school activities due to the predicted weather. I squealed, yes squealed with delight. That means I got back at 6 rather than 8. Big difference friends.
Confession… I am on a path to being the crazy coupon lady. In my inbox was an email from Harris Teeter saying there was a sale for a dozen eggs for 99 cents. Oh hell yes. You bet I walked the two miles to the store from work to get them. How can you pass that up?
Confession… compression socks are my new love. I may or may not have cleaned my apartment last night wearing my compression socks. I may or may not have worn them under my boots to work. I may or may not have slept in them one night. You get it?
Confession… I need this three day weekend. Even though I work at the running store Sunday and Monday, just getting three days technically ‘off’ from my other job makes me one happy camper. My to do list is quite extensive this weekend, for once I may have time to get it done.
Confession… my New England-er side laughs at some people. Both my college in VA and here cancel things before weather even appears. The prediction is enough to get people’s skirts in a bunch. Back home, school cancellations were never there. Even with a foot of snow the superintendent never cancelled. Ever. We hated that lady so much.
Confession… grocery shopping is needed like whoa tonight. Yesterday eats were sad, time to restock my bare fridge.
Confession… I listen to way too much rap. I guess when I get frustrated I immediately put my Pandora to Hip Hop and Rap. For some reason that station was played a lot this week. Don’t worry there was also a healthy dose of the Mumford & Sons station. But do worry that I have been mouthing to these random rap songs I now all of a sudden know.
Confession… I think I smell. Either that or her and her are just ‘coincidentally’ leaving town when I have free time to spend with them.
Confession… I have watched zero tv this week. Even my favorite shows. Work has been crazy, nights have been later there so be sure Hulu and I will have some bonding time.
Confession… sending in my first application today. Woof. That is all.

My confession is that I have watched TV this week. When I totally should have doing a number of other things.
Grocery shopping sounds like a fantastic idea. I’m on my last legs of food. Barely enough to scrape together a breakfast and lunch before I head home. My mom actually called at the grocery store to see if I needed anything… Nope
I have four acorn and one butternut squash waiting on the counter at home from me. For some reason my dad is not the biggest fan of squash….
I wish I had someone to take me grocery shopping, I love it but hate the walk there and back. hey, sometimes we all need that tv time

they help with blood flow and speed up recovery, all I know is my calves feel less sore than they ever have now that I wear them
I’m pretty happy to live at home so I don’t have to walk 2 miles to buy 99cent eggs. But that is a REALLY good price.
I do miss my car for that reason, yes and living at home would be glorious.
i am sooo a crazy coupon lady! but my confession (*cough cough BRAG*) for today is: i saved $72 on groceries!! that was 45% of my entire total! i had a happy dance for like an hour haha i seriously felt like i was on extreme couponing when she tallied everything up and told me my total!
WOOOO that was me last week, i was saying that even the cashier was like wow you saved so much. yes I did thank you very much
bahahaha YOU SMELL! no for real – you know i wish we could run together this weekend. tex is not a good running buddy (in that he doesn’t run at all) so if i could trade him out for you i would. i love that jenna marbles video also. there is a lot to be learned in hip hop music. keep rocking those compression socks and keep wiggling that butt. and i know you are going to be amazing in the business class this morning. and even if you completely suck, they’ll forget quickly. kids have short memories, i promise.
I am hoping they have bad memories, I still don’t know how you do it. i really worried I smell. i didn’t know why you were leaving me AGAIN. Have a blast though, i guess I understand…. (pouty face)

yep, here too. I remember when any warning came in VA people would flock to the stores. I mean really people, we will be ok. Sounds like some killer netflix time

Confession: I didn’t run today but stayed in my nice warm bed for an extra hour, reading blogs, drinking tea, and ordering new yoga dvds…and I’m ok with it. You are going to be amazing today, girl….no worries necessary! Those freshies won’t know what hit them…and my school was the same way about snow! We’d get hit with lake effect stuff from erie all the time and we NEVER had off….I slid through more stop signs on my way to school than had days of!
I didn’t run today either, love rest day fridays! sometimes our bed just calls especially when the weather is extra frigid in the am. Ugh sounds scary, I still remember going to school with mountains of snow on either side

Also, it was crazy to me that there was a snow delay this morning in MD when there was no snow on the roads at all. Pittsburgh would rejoice for this weather, but they freak here! hah

My confession today is that it depresses me that I have class on Fridays this semester. I’m pretty sure this hasn’t happened since my first year of undergrad.
Friday classes were always the worst, i liked having them early so they would get it over with. Glad you enjoyed that wiggle.

YOU SHOULD I work that night from 6-8 pm. It isn’t super close but kind of haha. Wow DC is going to be crazy on Monday and it is just hitting me now how insane it will be. probably won’t be taking the metro at all

I think I do, seriously best show ever. never gets old even after seeing every episode. I love coffee too so i am right there with you, luckily my own coffee maker makes some killer coffee. saves me loads of money.
So I arrive to Roanoke, VA bright and early expecting 6 inches of snow because everyone called for a blizzard…only to arrive to 1 inch. The New Englander inside of me got a kick out of it too

Um, whut? This is not at all the comment I posted. What the heck, WordPress. Here’s what I meant to say:
Compression socks = <3 . Well, I actually only have compression sleeves, but they were my BFFs when I trained for my half marathon. I haven't needed them as much lately because my legs don't get too crabby after short runs, but I'm sure we'll be reunited in the summer.
Yeah, pretty sure my school never cancelled anything preemptively when I was a kiddo. You spent enough time in Michigan during the winter and any doom-and-gloom snow forecast stops meaning anything to you, for sure. I hear 6-8 inches, I expect a dusting, because honestly, that's what happens 99% of the time.
We actually got nothing, not even rain after the whole cancellations. compression calf sleeves have been my new thing. i can’t believe how much better my calves feel.

Snow days honestly boggle my mind. We can be getting buried in snow with -40 weather here and life still goes on. Part of me is jealous, but a bigger part of me is proud for being so badass

im the same way with my coupons! i use to always make fun of my dad but i am becoming him.. sunday am i go through all the papers and cut everything out and then print out all the ones from whole foods site.. 50 cents is 50 cents ! haha and those 2 hours makes a HUGE difference, when a customer cancels on me and its my last one its the best thing ever!
I am loving how recently most stores are online coupons so it loads automatically on your savings card, that is really how i save the most. most stores know me though as the coupon lady.

ya i mean the job would be for june when this job ends but still, i need to start the process early. teaching this morning made me realize i do not want to be a teacher at all. at all.
I got lucky during college and 3 of the 4 years was granted with a snow day! But in WI it took over 18 inches over night for that to happen. As much as I hate snow, I welcomed it. And this year it gave me two days of ‘working from home’…. ha.
Ah I miss my compression socks so much! I need to fish those out and wear them. My legs are sore. Enjoy your weekend

Girl, I hear you on the three day weekend! I’d also like to throw out there that I totally relate to your love of rap music. Whenever work gets tough, I turn on the Kanye/Tupac/Jay-Z station on Pandora and get my gangsta rap on. I can back you up on the fact that it definitely helps.

Exactly, a coupon for compression socks would be ideal. Luckily I got these from a friend so that was a huge bonus. It is good you are nervous, let your trainer know. that way you can totally push past that mental barrier.

I totally understand your love for compression socks. When I was training for my half, I basically lived in compression socks. I wore them all day (and night) basically from the moment I returned from my long runs until I had to go to work the next day.
I have never had them before this so to say obsessed is not an exaggeration. they are always close now

aaaah I hope your teaching gig went well! Stuff like that is scary, but I think people have a funny way of stepping up to a task when they need to regardless of how much experience with it they have….so I bet you rocked it. And um YESS to the rap pandora station! I love my Tupac pandora station, but he was a 90s rapper and it’s way more chill than the lot of the stuff out now. It also makes me lolz when people get their panties in a bunch about “snow”….having grown up in Maine, I’ve never seen anything that compared. But I won’t complain about having stuff cancelled
