I will admit, I am a sucker for these get to know you type surveys. I have seriously dropped the ball on doing the blogger awards so let’s call this a makeup for all those I missed – ok?
I could have left you with a brain dump of a post because boy has this week been a whirlwind and sadly not even at the end of it. Tonight is the big event for work meaning I won’t be near my computer or even sitting till about 10 pm. Tomorrow is a full day of work at both jobs with a weekend full of, oh hey, more work at the running store. What I have realized is that a. if I am going to hold this crazy schedule, sticky notes are a must (I have between 3-5 per day with to do’s, schedules and lists) and b. I may have to *gasp* start meal planning and prepping. I have been so averse to this because I like just going with what I feel like eating that night but getting home at 8 and trying to scrounge together stuff slash stuff my face all before bed is tight. I am planning on mapping out the best sales Friday so that Saturday night shopping is easier. That means getting enough food to last me the week and stick to my budget. Daunting to say the least. It also doesn’t help that the weather is going to the dumps from Sunday to Tuesday meaning I need to plan my life accordingly due to how much I depend on walking and public transportation. Throw another one at me world, I dare you.
Now to the survey, I saw this on Tamzin’s blog.
A is for age:
22, nothing special about this age to be honest. Still feel young yet old at the same time. Barely even celebrated this birthday – 23 doesn’t seem that special either. I am not a big birthday celebration person, I rarely do anything special if anything at all.

B is for breakfast today:
I am the ‘bad blogger’ and rarely eat breakfast. I am a huge snacker so I am usually racing out the door with a coffee in hand. If my stomach doesn’t want it, not going to force it.
C is for currently craving:
Seafood like whoa. I think homesickness coupled with stress makes me crave all things that remind me of home aka New England seafood.
D is for dinner tonight:
I have the bare minimum on hand right now so last night I roasted some kabocha squash and lite firm tofu (I have that gluten free soy sauce I was sent in the GF Connect box to try!) Tonight, no idea. I have popcorn, eggs and carrots left. I am getting home so late I will see how I feel.
E is for favorite type of exercise:
Running is really what I crave. I do like to do classes if I had time slash money for them but right now the ease of running is making it my go to.

F is for an irrational fear:
Being broke and have no money to my name. Yep, I swear I have nightmares over this.
G is for gross food:
Peanut butter, gag. It is hard to even type it.
H is for hometown: !
South Shore in Massachusetts. Oh I do miss home. Lived in the same house my whole life.

I is for something important:
Finding balance in life and reminding myself of what I have fought so hard for. We all need those motivational reminders.
J is for current favorite jam:
Again, not a big music person and actually have no jam in my apartment SO I am going to say roasted squash. Where would I be without the ease of this?
K is for kids:
Again, 22. Don’t rush me!

L is for current location:
The lovely Washington DC. New home right out of college.
M is for the most recent way you spent money:
My money is only spent on the Metro to get to work, to pay my bills and food to eat. Lame but true. I haven’t spent my money on anything else since moving here.
N is for something you need:
Time, lots of time. A day off would be nice too. Oh and money. Man I guess I need more than I thought.
O is for occupation:
I work full time for a non-profit and part time at a running store.
P is for pet peeve:
Eek I have a lot of these. I guess I will place a focus on the blog world in general. WIAW is a pet peeve, mostly due to some of the unrealistic things that are put out there. Another one in real life is people dropping the ball and being flakey. Hate it, probably because I am always that go to, on time type person.
Q is for a quote:
Easy – “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain”

R is for random fact about you:
I wear my janky timex watch (that has seen way better days in the 10 + years I have had it) every day. I also wear it so the time faces me. That is actually how I wear all my watches.
S is for favorite healthy snack:
I adore snacks. Really any kind. I love me some popcorn but I guess one of my all time crunch loves is carrots. The big ones, not those little baby ones although I do eat both.
T is for favorite treat:
Again, I try not to label food so my favorite ‘treat’ is a night to myself with no expectations or responsibilities.
U is for something that makes you unique:
Hmm…I don’t consider myself that unique but I guess my running without music. All distances with no music.

V is for favorite vegetable:
This is tough, real tough. I love zucchini so I will go with that but I have some close runner ups with asparagus and mushrooms.
W is for today’s workout:
10 mile run this morning in slightly hotter DC weather.
X is for X-rays you’ve had:
Pelvic bone xray for my stress fracture over a year ago plus lots of teeth ones because you know me and my bad luck with the dentist.
Y is for yesterday’s highlight:
Catching up on the new 90210. Yep all four seasons of it. Holy crap my last two plus weeks have been consumed by that show but I am finally caught up and can watch it on tv now.
Z is for your time zone:
Eastern standard time, well duh.
I really liked this one. Exactly what I needed when my mind was in about a billion places. Bear with me the rest of this week, no idea what I will have time for.
Keep truckin’, hopefully you guys are at least looking forward to Friday. Not sure if Fridays mean anything to me anymore.
Questions: Pick a letter and do it for yourself, heck take the whole survey if you want!

Reading surveys always makes me happy.
I’ll do S, L and K (initials
)
S – favourite snack: right now, protein shakes, Larabars, or greek yogurt with peanut butter (I know, you hate it. :-p)
L – location: Brantford, Ontario, Canada.
K – kids: going to echo you and “don’t rush me.” Although, every time I see a cute baby, my ovaries start aching a little bit. Too damn cute.
P.S. I see this survey as a possible steal in the future. :-p
you should steal it, i really liked doing it. came so easily. I am loving your snacks lately, greek yogurt is a big one when it is one sale for me as well. so tasty. I adore the unsweetened kind.
Love these surveys, and I think I’ll have to steal this one from ya because there are days where my brain feels like mush and I can’t come up with a coherent post to save my life… so surveys are basically lifesavers.
Random letters from the first word I see… SUGAR
S – favorite snack: bananas and AB
U – something unique: I’ve never read any of the Harry Potter books or watched any of the movies. I don’t think I’ve ever come across anyone who’s as HP ignorant as me…
G – gross food: eggplants
A – age: 27
R- random fact: I have tinnitus… so I hear a slight ringing in my ears all the time
ADORE how you picked sugar, my kind of girl. YOU DON’T LIKE EGGPLANT, EEK that is one my favorites as well. I will forgive you. Whoa random fact is so interesting, I have never heard of that.
L is for current location: Seattle, WA, USA
O is for occupation: stay at home mom
V is for favorite vegetable: kale
E is for favorite type of exercise: yoga
Gosh I wish I could get into kale, I just can’t find a good way to eat it.
Kale chips? A small amount raw added to other salad greens for a unique bitter but not too overpowering taste? Chopped raw and coated in olive oil, salt and pepper allowed to rest to bring out the sweetness and used as a salad base? Steamed (so sweet) and then drizzled with olive oil? Sautéed alone or with other vegetables (I like mushrooms, red peppers and onions)? Added to soups? Substitute for spinach in a baked casserole or lasagna? Layered in scalloped potatoes? Hmm … I think that’s all I do with it. I know other people add it to smoothies too.
I need to get on it, if kale is on sale I will be giving those a try
Love these surveys! I’ll do my initials:
Kids: Still a while away but I would like to have 3
V for Favorite Vegetable: Lately I can’t get enough of zucchini
Treat: Ice cream
I see we are both zucchini lovers!
Definitely stealing this idea from you! I love quizzes like these! I’ll do my initials:
R – hmmmm, random fact… I am a total sucker for board games.
G – green vegetables. I can’t even think about them.
I never took you as a board game girl so I love learning that about you. So cool! I adore green vegetables too
Initials seem the easiest way to go today … lacking other brainpower. I love that you did this — and with less than typical sarcasm …? Okay, not over the top sarcasm …? Okay, enough sarcasm to make me smile!!
Craving cupcakes like crazy (I’m getting one tonight!! Yay for finally getting my date night!
But, not going to lie, might be more excited for the cupcake!!)
Jam … as in real jam or music jam? Raspberry and “A little too much” by Natasha Beddingfield and anything One Republic, Goo Goo Dolls (throw-back!!), or “The Fear” by Ben Howard.
Snack … hm. What I had for bedtime snack last night was pretty awesome — a plum sliced with a bit of PB on the slices that have rounded edges (yes, I’m weird, deal with it!), handful of Maple Frosted Mini Wheats, and 1oz of semi sweet dark chocolate. Mmm.
Um delicious night time snack for you missy! Love that. I know, my sarcasm has been lacking due to massive amounts of stress, got to bring that back.
J is for favourite juice – apple, with coconut water close second.
Love this post! Always fun to read! Hope you find some down time somewhere and get enough to eat!
I do love surveys like this, great way to learn about people. I am not a big juice person but apple is tasty!
Ooo, I love surveys! I will most like repost this sometime soon.
I’m so with you on your carrots as snacks answer. I usually buy a five-pound bag (a lot cheaper!) and spend time Sunday washing and cutting them all up. The only bad part is I sit down to snack on a few … and 10 minutes later half the bag has disappeared. Oops.
I do the same thing, carrots are so much cheaper in those big bags. They have had these great sales on the massive 2 lb bags and I go through them so quickly it is worth buying a ton. roasting them is great as well.
I LOVE carrot fries!
Me too, we should hang out and just make them together.Plan?
Done!
i love surveys. seriously i am such a survey junkie. i have to stop myself from doing a survey every single time i see it pop up in the blog world. since i’ll probs do this one on my blog at some point, i’ll just do a few letters…
M is for the most recent way you spent money: i bought frozen cherries, cheesecake pudding mix and pita chips yesterday. the first two for shakes and the last for a party i am going to on friday night. they were on sale 3/$7 so i am going to be snacking on a lot of pita chips in the near future. yessss.
H is for hometown: chicago. miss it every single day but i don’t think i’ll ever move back.
P is for pet peeve: i can’t even list just one because i have an irrational number of pet peeves (i’m an irritable person i guess) but my biggest is lateness. i think it’s disrespectful to show up late to things and i HATE when people waltz in ten minutes late and act like it’s not a problem. um…it’s a problem.
I have so many pet peeves too so I struggle to just think of one. I hate that too! So hate that. I kind of love how you put that cheesecake pudding in smoothies, you kind of make me want to try it.
Location – St. Louis, MO! Go Cardinals! Oh wait…
haha, another year.
I’m such a fan of these surveys too! They’re really the best way to get to know random things about you. I’d say running without music definitely makes you unique! Must mean you can stand the time alone with only your thoughts, which I think says something pretty great about you. Still can’t believe you think peanut butter is gross! haha
I guess both of those are little random unique things about me. Ha!
E (favorite type of exercise): Ballet!!! Though I also love walking, yoga, hiking, and bike riding:)
R (random fact about you): I hate wearing makeup, and rarely put it on–unless I have to for a dance performance…
B (breakfast today): A carrot-ginger-cocoa smoothie with lots of almond butter!
Q (quote): “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind”–Mahatma Gandhi.
I also loved the quote you posted; it is one of my favorites!!
whoa awesome quote! i have never heard of it. I used to do ballet so i am so happy to hear about how much you love it. sounds like a delicious smoothie! i rarely wear makeup either.
Ok, Alex, you don’t like peanut butter? I don’t know if we can be friends
A-28 pushing 29 in a little over a month. And the only time I ever feel old is when I talk to all of you blogger friends and realize just how much older I am!!
Q-”Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure… than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.” Teddy Roosevelt
I know isn’t that crazy. I just despise peanut butter. Everything about it makes me gag. I for some reason thought you were younger, love learning new things about bloggers. ADORE the quote, I have never heard it before.
It’s probably hard to tell from my pictures. At least everyone always says that I look a lot younger than I am. Teddy Roosevelt was a pretty cool guy. The first time I heard that quote was actually when I graduated from high school. My dad wrote it in the card he gave me. It’s be my favorite ever since
so sweet, I love the sentiment behind stuff like that
OH what a fun survey, I’m gonna be stealing this from you either tomorrow or saturday
.
F is for irrational fear: Not being able to get pregnant for years.
B is for breakfast today: Overnight Pumpkin Oats. So good!!
that is a fear that hopefully will disappear soon! you should steal it, so fun to use
Love this haha I might steal if from you soon :p
I’m jealous you’re 22 because one of Taylor Swift’s new songs is “22″ and it’s so cute haha
P- a pet peeve of mine is hearing people chew close to my ear… HATE that sound lol
oh gosh the chewing thing gets me,even if they are not that close. I hope you use it, it was fun to fill out
Auuuuggggghhhh you don’t like peanut butter?!?! This is a tragic discovery. I suppose I’ll still be friends with you since you seem like an all-around awesome person, but whoa. Not liking peanut butter is crazy talk. I blow through jars of that stuff like it’s going out of style. Love me some pb.
I’ll go ahead and do R – my eyelashes are different colors. True life. My left eyelashes are blonde and my right eyelashes are dark brown. My left eyebrow is also partially blonde while my right eyebrow is fully dark brown. Also, my hair is reddish. How does this happen? It’s like my body was all, “Why have one hair color when you can have THREE! Game on!” Hahaha. I’m whatever about the eyelashes, but I’m not a fan of the eyebrow situation. It looks like I plucked my eyebrows in a dark closet with no mirror and went on feel alone–”Yeah, yeah, I think that feels evenish. Or something.” Hahaha.
I know, people always give me that drop jaw you don’t like pb look. seriously that stuff freaks me out. um so cool about your eyelashes, I wish I could see that. that is certainly unique.
I know what you mean with how meal planning takes away that spontaneity and freedom, but trust me, your body will like you more and you’ll be less stressed. It’s one less thing you have to worry about late at night. And you don’t have to plan EVERY night, just the ones where you know you’ll be crazy busy.
F- Fear: Being touched, not in a creepy molester way, just someone touching my arm makes me cringe. I have a very large bubble and very few people are allowed in it.
O- Occupation: I am the Operations Manager for a major Men’s Clothing Corporation
T- Treat: Tortilla chips with salsa, sour cream and cheese. I have the ability to eat an entire jar of salsa and sour cream. I love it!
U- Unique: I enjoy getting up before the sun and being in bed by 8
I had no clue you did that for work. so cool! i love learning more about people. you do wake up super duper early, i am glad you get to bed that early. i know, meal planning will be tough but I hope i can find some sort of way to do it.
I’m pretty sure you are the only person I “know” who doesn’t like peanut butter either…ugh the thought of it makes my stomach turn! I’ll pick the letter W – 2+ hours on the bike trainer…yeah, so fun.
whoa bike trainer madness, i give you credit. I know, peanut butter just grosses me out!
Like everyone else, I’m totally stealing this… maybe this afternoon? We’ll see. But I’m with you on the peanut butter. We may be the only two bloggers that can’t stand it! I’ll take a 2lb bag of carrots anyday!
Hang in there, girl- I saw this on pinterest today and it was a little reminder: “good things come to those who wait”
Less than a month until Thanksgiving break and you’ll get to spend time with family and friends. It will be worth the wait!
We are the only bloggers, I swear people are shocked! I know, buying carrots in bulk is where it is at. You are so right with that quote, thanks for the reminder
I’m in the same time zone as you
YAY!!! and I laughed so hard at that auto correct ecard!!!! hahah! I have heard of others not liking pb……I posted a picture of me smearing pb on an icecream sandwich and that’s when I got to find out who loathed the stuff
lol
I feel like it is one of those foods you either love or hate
YOU DON’t LIKE PEANUT BUTTER!?!?! OHH MY GOSH. Hahahahah. Do you like any nut butters?!!? My G for Gross Food would be MUSHROOMS! BLECH!
I like NO nut butters. It is a texture and smell and just overall gross thing to me. Sorry! Oh gosh I love mushrooms. We could seriously gross each other out 24/7.
I love such posts! Even if I still can’t believe you hate peanut butter. It’s so good!
MY G – gross food – would be olives… Yuck. Especially the black ones.
I agree! they kind of freak me out. Like I really despise the taste.
You have got to be the first person I’ve ever heard say they don’t like peanut butter!!!
I know, people do not understand me with that one
I like this survey! Yum, new england has such great seafood, no wonder you’re craving it!
I know, I miss home!
I can’t believe you don’t like peanut butter! How did I not know this!?
Every blogger always wonders this, I just hate that stuff. I know crazy right?
B: eggs + waffles, classic
F: getting into a car accident ever since my first fender-bender a few months ago
L: NoVA, just outside DC!
P: people chewing with their mouth open anddd people backing out of commitments
R: I’ve been eating Greek yogurt by the tub-full recently. Can’t get enough!
So i just got into greek yogurt like a month ago, first time having it. I adore the unsweetened kind, so tart and thick. I need to start buying tubs. eek that would scare me too about car accidents! hope it never happens. And worst pet peeve right there, so agree.
Plain is my favorite
I like to jazz it up with applesauce, cinnamon, cocoa powder, pumpkin, or unsweetened coconut!
I am so with you on those add ins. Good call
I love that you don’t run with music… I don’t either!!
I also can’t believe you don’t like peanut butter!! What about other nut butters?? or is it the texture?
it is the taste, smell, texture. all of it. makes me just gag! all those nut butters just kill me
Letter G = BLASPHEMY!!!
I know what kind of blogger am I?
I love fun surveys! I can’t believe you don’t like PB though. It’s my favorite! I’m gonna do the letters of my name
T: favorite treat – ice cream for sure. but I eat it all the time
A: Age – 19
R: Random fact – my nickname is Taradactyl
A: already covered this one
Haha cute nickname! I haven’t heard from you in a while, this comment made me smile! Love hearing from you
I also run without music! It’s really dangerous to run with it on the roads, in my opinion.. Which brings me to P, my PET PEEVE.. People who run on the wrong side of the road with music in. YOU WILL GET HIT BY A CAR. Seriously though.
I hate when people do that too so dangerous! I am glad you are with me on that one
survey rock! and you are unique. just like everyone else.
my favorite veggie is zucchini too. followed by carrots. both raw.
I guess we are very similar, those have to be two of my staples lately. Love that they are cheap as well
