Boo – Ya

Can I just have a moment? I am all over the place here. Rambles are all I got.

  1. Let’s be real. I won’t be blogging this weekend. I got mom time planned. Friday after a dreaded dentist appointment we will be heading to Arlington and Alexandria to explore. I am hoping to somehow stumble upon a Wegman’s – yes life goal. Saturday we are hitting up Eastern Market and then doing some tourist-y type stuff. She leaves Sunday morning, sad welcome back to reality. I am taking advantage of every single moment we have together. Pinned Image
  2. This year our second company training with the California and Boston branch is not taken place in California due to budget cuts. Dang. That means the DC and Boston branch will be meeting up in good old New Hampshire on Dec. 18 and 19. Well folks I lucked out because my boss is letting me work remotely on the 20th and 21st so that I get my flight back to Boston on the 18th and flight back to DC on the 1st of January COVERED by the company. Yes, I do not have to pay a dime to get home this holiday season. BOO YA.
  3. As I said, I quit that second job I got. No pay equals no need for that. I am hoping to apply to a local running store to work there on the weekends and maybe Monday and Friday nights. Crossing my fingers this work out. Either that or I will be applying to a frozen yogurt place near me that is hiring as well. I need money – like real bad.
  4. For some odd reason I received $6.50 extra buck to CVS. Um, hello that never happens to me. Like ever. I was in shock. Pinned Image
  5. This week was the first week of mentor sessions with the mentors. Can I say success? Sadly the kids attendance at them were pretty low but all the mentors showed up which blows my mind. I now realize I no longer dealing with college kids and trying to have them commit is another story. I loved watching the kids interact with the  mentors, it was just one of those moments where I was like dang I love this job.
  6. Loved all your support on my last post. I hope to improve in many ways including my digestive issues. I know it will just take a lot of playing around and tweaking to see what works and what doesn’t. Can’t wait till I have some normalcy.
  7. I really like that running survey going around. I will probably do it one day. I don’t consider myself a runner, well I do but for some reason since started blogging I have lost that confidence in my running. I am not fast, I don’t do tons of races, I have never run a marathon, I am not part of some snazzy team, I don’t have a training plan… for some reason I just struggle to consider myself up there. In reality,  I love running so runner or not I will always do it!

Ok enough rambling. I have some mom time to catch up on. See you all Monday! Let’s see if I can take some pictures, mostly likely I will just tweet away. Good luck all you marathons runners out there – rock that race!

Questions: what are you looking forward to this weekend? Any perks from this past week?

  1. Have a great weekend!

  2. Don’t let comparisons change how you define youself. If you want to be a runner, then be one. If not, then that’s fine too!! It’s just a word — YOUR thoughts and feelings behind it are what matter.
Sounds like things are falling in line for you, I couldn’t be happier. You deserve it chicka!! Way to weather the storm. :)
    Enjoy your weekend!!

  3. Hope you have a fantastic weekend with your Mum! And don’t you dare blog!!! haha You deserve some awesomeness – so lucky you don’t have to pay to go home! :) X

  4. Have a great weekend. I love cheeseballs. Lol. My nephew used to call me aunt cheeseballs because I would buy them a big tub sometimes… can’t be an HLB all the time. Haha.

  5. Have a great weekend with your mom- hope she spoils you :) ! I’m looking forward to celebrating a friend’s birthday tomorrow night!

  6. Yay for Mom time! I hope you guys have a great weekend exploring! :)

  7. I’m crossing my fingers that you’ll find a Wegmans! Love Weggies so much; it’s one of the happiest places on earth. ;) Have fun this weekend with your mom. :)

  8. i cannot believe you are going to be up in my hood (arlington/alexandria) and i am leaving town! i want to post the same comment you posted about being a runner – i seriously find it so ironic that you don’t think of yourself as a runner because every time i read your blog you inspire me with your commitment to the sport. i can commit to a plan, but whenever i’m not training for something i get pretty lackadaisical about my running, so it’s even more impressive to me that you just go bust out a bunch of miles on a daily basis. you’re one bad ass runner if you ask me!

  9. Have a good time! Me and a good friend of mine are obsessed with honey boo boo! There is a wegmans that way! You can look online to find a store locator! Have a great weekend girl!

  10. It’s funny that you don’t consider yourself a runner because I consider you a running mentor of sorts. I don’t do a lot of racing and would only be considered fast if you’re putting me next to a sloth. Anyone who runs is a runner, and lord do you run, so please don’t stop. Ever.

  11. YOU ARE MOST DEFINITELY A RUNNER! Girl you run double digits everyday! That is AMAZING! If you’re not a runner then I certainly am not LOL! And I consider myself a runner!

  12. HAVE AN AWESOME TIME W/ YOUR MOMMA THIS WEEKEND!! I am so so so so happy for you. Mother/Daugther time is the BEST! Find yourself a wegmans and get yo self some goodies!!

Oh & girl, you hush it.. you are so a runner! An awesome runner too :) .

  15. YAY for time with your momma!! Have so much fun (like I really need to even say that!). Enjoy her! I’m going to Chicago this weekned with my hubby, parents, and in-laws!

  16. LOVE Wegman’s! So incredibly jealous you get to goooo. Have an awesome weekend with your mom!!

  17. aww have a great time with your mommy!! And a wonderful weekend!

  18. You are definitely a runner… no way should you ever say you’re not just because you’re not doing a bunch of racing. Plenty of runners just don’t race, plenty of people who do races aren’t really runners (esp. races like turkey trots and things that everyone just shows up for). And you should do that survey so I can steal it from ya. Haha.

  19. have an awesome time with your mom!!! I LOVE Alexandria it is soo cute there!

  20. Um, you’re a runner. If I consider myself a runner, you are definitely. You ARE fast, and who cares if you race or not? You pump out half marathons like it’s nbd in TRAINING. I like die through my 3-4 miles every morning just so I can hang onto my status as a runner. Psssh. Congrats on getting to go home for the holidays! That is awesome. :)

  21. Have fun with your mom! I definitely take for granted having my momma so close and can stop by anytime… But then again, she also takes it for granted aka asks for help running errands :P This weekend I’m looking forward to relaxing while getting my nails done and going apple picking with friends :)

  22. This weekend is actually Thanksgiving for us up here in Canada, so lots of family time and good food is on the agenda. Hope you have a great time with your mom!

  23. Have a great weekend with your mom!!! And you are definitely a runner lol I consider myself a runner and I’ve cut down a LOT on my miles and have yet to run a race lol

  24. Alysha @Shesontherun

Have fun with your mom! I think working at a running store is a great second job for you. You have so much knowledge, you would be perfect for it!

  25. You.are.a.runner! Wishing I could rock that high weekly mileage like you!

Have a great weekend with your mama! I am looking fwd to meeting you soon! :-)

  26. Hey girl, I hope you enjoy the weekend with your mama. I think finding a 2nd job at a running store or yogurt place will be great for you, because you will meet NEW people and make friends, and also make some $ at the same time, which I have been reading on your blog is stressing you out. Glad to hear your stomach issues are better, and making just a few changes is helping!

ENJOY YOUR TIME AWAY FROM THE BLOG! :) :)

  27. Alex,I hope you have a wonderful time with your mom! Mom time’s the best time,I always say… :P
Also,I’m sorry for the lack of comments lately… I was pretty busy and I hope you firgive me. :c

  28. Ohhhh I love Wegmans. I’m from Rochester, its birthplace, and we’re all obsessed with them up here. There’s at least one in every neighborhood, if not more. So I totally understand your need to find one.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend with your mom! =)

  29. Have a fabulous time with your mom!!

  30. I’m soooo happy that you’ll be with your mom this weekend. You will be so relaxed. Enjoy, those are fun places to explore! Old Alexandria is way pretty.
I’m also glad to hear that you quit the second job because it sounds like you were able to take a step back and realize you needed to do what was best for you and your stress levels! And you weren’t getting paid so it sounds like you’ll be OK without the job…sometimes it’s hard for go-getters like us to say no to opportunities. Believe me I know. But I’ve been saying “no” more often and I have been happier as a result!

  31. So excited for you! A weekend with your mom sounds like it’s exactly what you need. Along with the free trip back home for the holidays! That’s awesome!

I’m sure you’ll find some additional work to help the money situation. Have you thought about possibly working at a restaurant? Potential to make a bit more in tips? I’m on the hunt as well so I will keep my fingers crossed for ya girl!

  32. Have a great weekend with your mom!! I hope your dentist appt went well!!

  33. Have fun with your mom this weekend!!

  34. Have an awesome time with your mom!

By the way, in my mind: people that run = runners. With or without training plans, marathons or teams. Hell, I consider myself a runner even though I haven’t done more than 6 miles in about a year.

So you, my dear, are most definitely a runner. :-)

  35. I hope you have the best time with your mom this weekend, mom time is obviously the greatest thing there is :)

  36. #3 why is life so darn expensive?!! The money situation isn’t a fun one best of luck with another job :)
#6 digestive issues STINK, literally. I truly hope you are able to find some good answers on this one!

Lastly, have a wonderful weekend with your mom!

  37. Enjoy your time with your mom, your plans sound so fun! My dad is coming up to visit me this weekend for homecoming so I’m excited to do some stuff with him and just unplug.

I’ve heard good things about Wegman’s but I’ve never been because I think it’s an East Coast thing? You guys have all the best stuff over there haha!

  38. Yay love number two … if I read it correctly. haha hope you get all you want this weekend with your mum!

  39. Hahahaha. that Honey Boo Boo shot had me laughing through your whole post! Good luck getting the right job girl!

  40. Yay for your mum coming! That is Awesome!! I hope you guys enjoy every minute of if!!! Glad you quit the unpaid job. Sounded like too much with no benefit woulda burned you out. And yay for your trip to Boston covered!!! Also you’re a runner! You run! :)

  41. Found you over at “Katie Moves”. She mentioned you are sarcastic so I just had to come over.
Sorry your second job is unpaid and you are back at the search. I hope you find something that actually pays.
What I am looking forward to this weekend? Finding some time to relax. :-)
