Oh yes it is hump day. However with working Saturday I am not sure I can consider this my hump day but who really needs a reason to rock out to Red Hot Chili Peppers?
I was nominated over at Flecks of Green a little while back (sorry for my delay!) for the Sunshine Award. Who doesn’t love some random facts thrown out there? I am hoping to do a post this week (time permitted of course) on my first few nights in the classrooms facilitating the mentor sessions. But for today the facts will do. And because a lot of these you probably already know how I would answer, I will try to add a spin.
Rules: If you are nominated you must include the link in a blog, linking to the person/blog that nominated you. You must answer some questions and nominate 7 fellow bloggers and link their blogs in your post. Let the people you have nominated know that you have nominated them!
Here are the questions:
1. Who is your favorite philosopher? My mom? I mean she is oh so wise. No for real though you caught me. I am a terrible history nerd, who has no background in philosophy or even knows that much about our history. I suck at keeping up with politics and know as a young adult I should be more informed of the world around me. You’re telling me the Real Housewives isn’t real life?
2. What is your favorite number? 11 or 13. I always chose 11 for sports because I thought it was super unlucky and therefore that would make me a badass for choosing it. No lie, I thought I was that ‘out of the box’ cool. I may have stayed away from the preppy surroundings but in order to do that I made sure I defined myself as unique. Gosh, I was such a gem.
3. What is your favorite animal? Frogs. I really have no idea how I got on the frog trend but since I was little I have been collecting frog stuff. I have a lot of frog stuff, a lot. Why I had a fascination with slimy, burping animals -I have no idea? You think my parents would have started to worry about me earlier.
4. What are your Facebook and Twitter? Twitter. I am mildly obsessed to say the least. I wake up to it, I fall asleep to it. It is how I stay connected with friends. It also helps when people call you baller at 8 am in the morning. Thank you lovely lady.
5. What is your favorite time of day? Come on. I think anyone who follows me on Twitter could answer this because most of my tweets are between the hours of 530 am and 8 am. I am that kind of crazy. I operate on grandma hours. My prime bedtime is between 9-10 pm and waking up between 530 -6 am works for me. Early bird dinner date? Anyone?
6. What was your favorite vacation? Hard one. Our yearly summers in the Cape were always something I lived for. When we were younger it was summers in the Cape and a school vacation at Storyland. Don’t get me started on the absurdity of that place. But I loved it, who knew oversized story book tales would keep me entertained for a whole three days! The family vacation though that means a lot to me is this past Christmas in Antigua. It was a family vacation that we had never done before but to celebrate my summer in treatment. The fact that I could take this vacation, in a new mindset was such a milestone for me.
7. What is your favorite physical activity? Do I have to answer this? Isn’t this obvious? RUNNING
8. What is your favorite non-alcoholic drink? If I am being a non adhere to my no soda diet I would say Diet Root Beer (oh my goodness get in my belly) but I do love sparkling water – like the cheap stuff they sell for 89 cents at the grocery store, store brand stuff. I go for quality my friends.
9. What is your favorite flower? I kill all plants that come near me, true fact, so I don’t really keep any living things in my apartment. Lillies are my favorite flower and I decided that fact at the prime age of five because my middle name is Lilly.
10. What is your passion? I really can’t answer this. I am struggling with this question right now because I am so in between phases. I have a job, but not a job I see myself doing forever, I have a place to live, but not a place I see myself being forever – what a tough question.
Ugh nominations. Can I just say everyone? Lame I know, you can yell at me later, but I would love to hear some people answer this for themselves!

My favourite flowers are Calla lillies…although i never actually keep them in the house, black thumb over here.
yep, I can relate to that black thumb. NO living thing enters my apartment.
hahaha 11 … I know 13 is an unlucky number too .. you know Friday the 13th. Diet Root Beer? I’ve never had that! That sounds kinda good and I don’t even drink a lot of soda!
Never had diet root beer, oh girl missing out. seriously my guilty pleasure
I will have to look for it next time I have the urge to drink soda!! hehe I like root beer mixed with mountain dew. hehehe
weird mix, but I can’t knock it until I try it I guess
I tried drinking a root beer today on my drive to sa .. I took one sip and put it down. I have no clue why I’m not a big fan of sodas. I need diet root beer. maybe it’ll change my mind ..
Try diet root beer. Just saying.
Frogs? Heehee. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone whose favorite animals were frogs. They’re kind of cute though, in a slimy burpy way
I’m gonna stick to my answer of elephants though.
My dad’s favorite animal is elephants, he always used to say it was because a. they have a good memory and he claimed he had one too (so false) and b. they reminded him of his syrian heritage, don’t ask me how
Favorite non alcoholic drink? Smoothies! That answer encompasses so many wonderful things and flavors hehe
I haven’t had a smoothie in ages! I want to try a green smoothie, that I have never had.
I know a girl who is obsessed with frogs. But she’s an awful person. You’re not though haha. My favorite flowers are tulips or irises, both are so colorful and pretty and pretty much the opposite of me haha
Glad I’m not awful, I seriously giggled when I read your comment. Did you get the PB2 yet?
Girl, this post was exactly what I needed to cheer me up a little. You always find the funniest things to say and pictures to post! Seriously, the picture of you under your favorite number.. classic!!
I’m with you on the flowers. The hubs pretty much knows not to buy me flowers because they are a waste of money. I don’t know how people can keep them living for so long. I’d be lucky if mine lived longer than 2 or 3 days. I really must figure out the method behind this madness!!
That is how I see it, such a waste of money when I end up just killing them. A lot! Glad this put you in a good mood, I swear I know how to make people smile
Ha, that you do
Hahaha I kill plants too!!! This was a really nice post!!
I love reading random facts about people so I thought this would do my randomness justice.
Lol,I am also a plant killer I ALWAYS tnd to forget they need water to stay alive someow, haha, that’s why I never have one around usually.
Frogs are simply adorable,by the way. <3 They always make me happy somehow,it must be kind of magic!
Who knows why I clung onto frogs but I seriously love them… a lot. No green plant survives.
love this post – i always love reading random facts about people. i could seriously subsist on blogs with only random facts. i am also definitely a morning person and really wish i could work out in the mornings before work, but that just ain’t gonna happen on a teacher’s schedule. maybe some day when i become a yoga class attending retiree….
I don’t know how you would, teacher’s schedules are crazy.Since we are so close, we should go to a free yoga class together when you are out of marathon season!
oh I am a grandma as well, I would happily go to early bird dinner with you, favorite time to eat! and sometimes I struggle to get out of bed but I thoroughly enjoy my morning routine before the rest of the world gets up, there are a decent amount of ppl at the gym in the am tho!
I have to agree that running in the morning has been that much easier because there are always so many people out doing some sort of exercise. Early bird diner date!
Your mom as a philosopher is completely legit! I feel the same way about mine
She is so wise. Love moms!
Why is Diet Root Beer sooo good?! I love it too! And there really is never a bad reason to listen to RHCP!
Glad you agree on both those fronts, diet root beer is the best diet soda out there.
hahaha I don’t do well with plants either :p They either die or try to attack me in my sleep haha
Haha plants don’t make their way in my apartment!
I am slowly becoming more of a grandma in terms of my bed/rise time as well. I used to this getting up before 8 was CRAZY early, and now I rarely sleep past 8. Oh how I miss the days when I would sleep in til 11:00!
Ha, I have always been an early riser. My 6 am starts are a lot easier when I go to bed earlier. No shame
I love Diet Root Beer, and I don’t even drink pop (soda)!
I swear it is crack, so good. Best diet soda out there for sure
I love learning more about you, and your sense of humor cracks me up. I too am a grandma when it comes to bed times, eating,….just about everything, so I can definitely relate on that!
Glad you like it, I am a grandma through and through.
Yuuup, I collect frog-related things. Have a bathroom dedicated to them. With an awesome frog shower curtain. Nothing wrong with a good frog obsession
…Or with grandma time. I’ll totally meet up with you for breakfast at 5:30am.
Wow now you have some great frog style
I need one of those. Grandma time all the way!
I’m with you on number 5! I love love LOVE the early morning time! Well, usually I do. I like it more when I have nothing to do and can take my time sipping coffee and enjoying some quiet time.
It is kind of crazy how much of a morning person I am, those hours are precious to me.
I looooovvvvveeeee stargazer lilies. They’re my favorite. My grandparents live in a retirement home, and once upon a time they’re next door neighbor had a bouquet of flowers outside their apartment that had stargazer lilies. Since then I’ve been crazy about them. I’m totally with you on the plant killage, though. Once upon a time I accidentally murdered a cactus. A cactus! How do you kill a CACTUS? I’m hopeless.
Hahah a cactus! Props for even putting that in your house, I love those lillies. What a cute story!
My favorite flower is a rose because that’s my middle name.
Ha, I guess we go for the same kind of ease to finding a favorite!
We totally have the same bed time/wake up time
We can be grandmas together!
I say we do a dinner date, ideal partner right there.
Loved getting to know you better darlin! My favorite flower is either a lily or a rose.. classic beauties
Both are beautiful, oh so pretty.
Yay for sparkling water and mama wisdom
I do love sparkling water, even the cheap kind.
hahaha @ operating on grandma hours. We are kindred spirits!
