Double Giveaway: You Heard it

What’s that? A treasure chest. To kickstart this month of thank you’s I wanted to do a double header. Plus, I need my spirits lifted. No idea what is going on but let’s say I barely made it through the 30 minute metro ride without desperately needing to find a pitstop. No idea how I got through my run, sheer willpower because my stomach is in shambles. I can barely sit up straight today. But enough about that – let’s talk about snacks.

Since having to go gluten free, I have shied away from the ‘gluten free’ label. No cookie, brownie or snack just seemed to taste as good so I gave up. Slowly, the gluten free lifestyle has been embraced by more and more companies so I have started to dip my toes in.

Pirate’s Booty, Smart Puffs and its Potato Flyers are on the top on my list lately. I love all the new flavors (especially veggie!).  Pirate’s Booty makes the grade for a “Snack Swap!”  Pirate’s Booty is a deliciously baked, all-natural snack that kids love and moms feel good about adding to the lunchbox.  Pirate’s Booty has half the fat and fewer calories than regular fried potato chips.  Pirate’s Booty is gluten, peanut and tree-nut free, so it’s safe for kids with allergies and their classmates too.  Pirate’s Booty is made without trans-fats and ingredients you can’t pronounce.  Also, it’s more convenient than ever, as Pirate’s Booty Aged White Cheddar now comes in half-ounce size multipacks that are only 65-calories per pack!  Pirate’s Booty Aged White Cheddar half-ounce 12-packs are available at retailers nationwide.

These puffs of cheesy goodness are hard to describe but they are finger licking good. Crunchy yet puffy but without that lack of flavor that some air puffed snacks can have. I loved the snack packs and of course the treasure chest the whole package came in – no lie I debated wearing the eye patch for a picture. The sticker is already on my water bottle I carry around.

El’s Gluten Free Snacks are new to me so I was pumped to try these Medleys out. These medleys have no gluten, no preservatives, no trans fat, no cholesterol, no fake colorings, no fake flavors, no hydrogenated oils and no eggs. All of us allergy people out there are jumping! Their mission is about creating tasty alternatives to those who suffer from allergies and IBS. They believe that no flavor should be compromised.

I was able to try the Original, Cheddar and Sour Cream and Onion. Each medley contained flaxseed corn chips, corn nuts, pretzels and potato chips… all gluten free. I had to try them all, I mean I only wanted to make sure you were informed! (Ha!) My favorite surprisingly - was the original. It had a zesty, spicy punch that really made me want to go back for more. It lacked no flavor and you could see the flavoring on each chip. The others were equally as tasty with full cheddar flavor and some delicious sour cream and onion kick. Not going to lie, this skeptic was in love with these puppies.

I mean look at that! Corn nuts have to one of my new favorite things.

So how can you join in on the fun? TOMORROW AT 12  NOON I will be picking two lovely winners. Yes, a quick 24 hour window people so jump on it.
