Whoa

I am exhausted. Never did I think three days of go go go could knock me out like this. I feel like I am in a fog. But coming back to my friend’s apartment after dropping off my dad at the airport and being triggered yet again, I can only feel relieved that I will have my own place next Friday. That is so soon. That is less than a week. I am grateful for so many things right now. A dad that may frustrate the hell out of me at some points but who truly knows how to get a good deal. An apartment I love love love despite all the worries I may have about money. A location that is prime for all my needs – metro, grocery shopping, running, etc. A mom that reassured me that I can and will be able to afford this place and make it my own. A smart savvy sense of spending that will has already and will even more come into hand as I try and furnish this place without spending a lot. Lastly, friends (both blog and DC) that have been so willing to help me in the move.

So want to see pictures? Welcome to my abode, official move in the 27th of July so that I can get half the rent off the first month.

Let’s be real. I have a lot to figure out. My parents are unable to come down next weekend meaning it is me, myself and I moving in. My roommate is away next weekend so I will somehow need to get myself a block down. I won’t have anything but a bed for a while (at least a bed! thanks to some lovely friends in DC selling theirs). I need to set up cable/internet and electricity before next Friday so when I get there it is all settled.

Minor details right? Ha. Lots of planning this week but so worth it.

Don’t go too far, in the next 24 hours I will be having TWO giveaways that will last till next Wednesday so be sure to check back in. All the advice and feedback has been so remarkable so why not spread some PROTEIN and TUMMY love. Love the anticipation.

  4. CONGRATS!!! oh my gosh, it looks beautiful – clean and spacious, I’m so glad you love it! And decorating/arranging everything is totally the best part :) The moving thing will be fine too – I moved out of my Raleigh apartment last fall pretty much by myself…I couldn’t fit everything in the car so I had to coordinated storage and selling stuff ugh, but it all worked out! Seriously if you do need an extra hand let me know!

    • I am hoping that I can find a car or find someone with a car so I can just load it up. Luckily I don’t have a lot so really all I need is one car load but the process of actually moving it all blahhhh

  5. Looks like a nice place! Congrats, and just take moving with a positive attitude and it’ll go much better. I’d totally help you if I lived near you! But I’m sure everything will all unfold as it’s supposed to.

  6. YAY!! Looks awesome!! And you don’t really need much more than a bed, internet, and someplace to put all your stuff so YIPPEE!!

  7. Love the new apartment! Your parents sound exactly like mine. My dad can annoy the heck out of me but he can get the best deals. Then there’s my mom who is such a sweat heart and who I can never get annoyed with.

  14. Your place looks so inviting, even with nothing in it! I love the floors especially. I’m sure you’ll end up with lots of cool decor! That’s what I’m most excited about when I move into my first apartment in a couple weeks!

  15. Wow it lpols beautiful! Lots of natural light! Good job! :)

  16. I can imagine it would be quite exhausting! I love the new apartment, it looks great!!

  17. I love the new apartment- it looks super cute to me. It’ll be tons of fun decorating it too. You could always try some thrift stores or stores like Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Ross, etc for stuff. And if you wait a few more weeks, all the “back to college” type stuff will be on clearance and that will be a good way to get some deals. Good luck with moving in on your own, at least you have a bed and eventually you’ll have more :)

  18. I’m sure there’s a lot to figure out, but on the bright side, YOU HAVE AN APARTMENT!!!! :)

  19. It’s GORGEOUS!! It looks really spacious and like a proper grown up apartment. So exciting!

I’m moving in about 3 weeks to an unfurnished place (we’re currently renting a furnished flat), and am on the hunt for some good furniture deals! It’s a bit daunting to be honest, but I’m kind of looking forward to decorating it from scratch at the same time!

  20. That’s so exciting! Finally moving out of the dorms? The most fun part about this is definitely going be decorating. You should spend some time surfing pinterest for ideas :)

  21. Awesome place, good luck with the move!

  22. I cannot wait to see how it is once you decorate it!! IT’s so big for just you. ask around! Maybe some of your DC friends will help! If I was there, I would, ;)
