Marvelous You Say?

Another MIMM thanks to Healthy Diva Eats. Got to say, I need an upbeat start to this week which I am foreseeing will be quite long. Getting back into routine plus apartment searching up the wazoo is going to be ROUGH. I will be honest, I have a lot of not so marvelous things floating around my head but no excuses means finding that light in the darkness.

Marvelous… comments and reflection from my post yesterday about EXCUSES. I actually was not expecting a lot of feedback or even response on this touchy subject. But man, you guys did not disappoint. I even got some great tips on how to make my ‘no excuses’ list more concrete and tangible. Check out Kate’s post on it if you haven’t already. A great next step to the no excuses mentality.

Marvelous… my no excuses planned worked last night! I stuck to my plan and totally feel confident in how I did. *happy dance*

Marvelous… 540 am wake up this morning, the first one in a week. Despite waking up every hour last night, I was able to get out of bed and rock out some sweaty miles. I thought I would be dragging but it really helped that a. I was proud of myself for sticking to my plan and b. there were so many runners out at 6 am! Totally motivating.

Marvelous… discount find at the store this week. I have been able to cut my weekly grocery haul by nearly $20 since the first time I did it. I am pretty proud of the deals I have been finding and ways to maximize with less cost. That is a bonus.

Marvelous… that I got back into my routine of wearing a watch everyday. I started when I was in Cali because I wasn’t allowed to have my phone out. Since then, I have just been putting it on everyday. So much easier.

Marvelous…. bumping into Bethany yesterday at Eastern Market. Something that makes a place feel less like a transitional place and more like a home is that idea of bumping into people randomly. Plus, who wouldn’t want to run into her?

Marvelous... that dresses were invented for this very reason. Amen to this. I seriously only wear skirts or dresses to work because between riding on the metro and walking over a mile just to get to work, the sweat would be intense.

Marvelous... that I took a leap and committed to Sarah’s online bible study group. I was one of the first three to sign up so I get the book for free! I am super excited to find something to commit to because I feel like I have been doing nothing in regards to my faith lately. I have been letting it fall victim to my anxiety rather than seeking further focus.

Marvelous… my dad is coming this week. I know I felt ambivalent about it for a while but then when he finally announced he is flying in Thursday morning and staying till Sunday morning I got giddy with excitement. I really can’t wait for so many reasons. Maybe his arrival is helping me stick to my no excuses plan?

Wow, I actually do have a lot of marvelous things going on today!

Questions: What is marvelous about your Monday? What have you committed to lately?
