Dude, Where’s My Blog?

I wrote this whole post and somehow lost it. Man, those moments just blow.

Anyways, Kelly nominated me for this award and I had to oblige. I love these because I get to learn even more about some of my favorite bloggers out there. You all know plenty about me already but another go at it never hurts. (Also, rules in a short recap – tag back, five randoms, seven (+lucky 1)  nomination!)

1. I walk fast. This is no exaggeration. I think it is years of having to keep up with my mom and her long legs that have caused this. I always have friends comment to slow down or what’s the rush. I mean it is just the way I roll. So if you waddle and then slow down as my train is pulling in, you will get a little huff. If you drag your Uggs as you slowly clomp down the hall, I will give you that side glance. PICK UP YOUR FEET. (I think this is primarily why I never got into the Ugg fad)

2. I am the most indecisive person around. Would you believe I have had the Healthy Living Summit on my web bookmarks since it came out and that I have visited it everyday debating about what to do. I can’t decide anything. I think it is because I am such a pros and cons type person so I always wonder the but ‘what if’. Makes life decisions very challenging.

3. I want to meet a blogger. Not in a creepy way but seriously I want to. I am sick of friends and family not getting this blogging thing. They laugh and just wonder why I choose to spend my time on the computer. They don’t get that blogging has given me a huge confidence boost, I feel for once that I can say what I want and be who I am. Only a fellow blogger could get that.

4. I have a god sister. Ya, probably doesn’t really exist but I have one. My parents are her god parents so since we were younger, that is how we always thought of each other. I have known her since we were both quite young. My sister, Jenna and I were the inseparable three. My dad actually went to  prom with her mom. Crazy. We all used to make up quality dances (Backstreet Boys and Shania Twain songs were all covered) and elaborate shows. Jenna and I were so close because we also did ballet together. Even though we never went to the same school, our friendship was beyond tight. All three of us even had our band ‘Buds’ (theme song and all). Distance may separate us but every time we are back together the memories flood back. I love that. Want to know a secret? Her mom let me read an essay she wrote about me in high school that talked about how she saw so much strength in me despite me seriously struggling with an eating disorder at that  point. She saw through that disorder and still loved me. I almost cried when I read it. I hope we can pass the tradition on and our kids become god sisters as well.

5. I am that person who will chat with anyone on public transportation. Of course not in a weird way but when someone asks me a question or wants to know about a shirt I am wearing, I am more than willing to have a long conversation with them. I kind of love the company and conversation. This makes me really seem like a weirdo. However, my stop is last so by the time I am almost to work the metro looks like this. So lonely.

I nominate… because I want some juicy randoms about these awesome girls…

Maren @ Maren’s Morsels

Meg @ A Dash of Meg

Tessa @ Amazing Asset

Kate @ Work in Progress

Katie @ Katie Moves

Haley @ Health Freak College Girl

Katie @ Peace Love and Oats

and

Colleen @ The Chocolate Mile

Questions: What is a random fact about you? What is a term you use that others probably don’t?

  1. I walk really fast too, I hate when people can’t keep up :)

  2. Have you signed up for HLS yet?? ?SIGN UP!! This will be my first time at a blogger meet up and it would be SO MUCH FUN to have you there!!

  3. Haha,I walk fast,too! Everyone always complains… So annoying! ;)
And if I’ live in the US,I would totally come visit you! I’d love to meet you in person, really! :)

  4. I’m a fast walker too! I get impatient walking slowly. I’m also incredibly indecisive. Or am I? Maybe not… okay I am :)

I use LOADS of terms that others don’t! But that’s mostly the fate of a Canadian living in the UK. I get laughed at a lot for my crazy use of the English language. Pants refers to underwear here. The sidewalk is called the pavement. And when you ask for the bathroom… they think you’re actually looking for an actual bathtub.
Also, I definitely have to tone down my open friendliness in public- people here are more reserved with strangers and they think I’m crazy for talking to them in public! So yes, I would be the person on the other side of your public transport conversation! :)

  5. Gahhh I want to go to HLS too!

  6. I want to meet a blogger too!! I wish I could teleport to the northeast, it seems like everyone lives over there haha ;)

  7. ahhh lets try and meet up one weekend at eastern market!!!!!

  8. I want to meet some bloggers too! I love the blog community. Everyone is so cool!

  9. I think it’s so cool that you chat with people on the metro :) . You never know when someone might just need encouraging words or it might make someone’s day that you talked to them!

Come visit Charleston and you can meet a blogger :) .

  10. Alysha @Shesontherun

I totally agree with you about meeting other bloggers. I’ve met quite a few in the Milwaukee area and it’s nice to be able to chat about something that no one else in the outside world understands. Congrats on your nom!

  11. Ah, I totally want to meet a blogger too! I’m busy this weekend, but want to go get froyo some time/plan a legit blogger meetup like Tessa and the other Boston bloggers do? I think it’d be so fun! I’m at the end of the red line, sooo I know the whole empty metro thing. It’s weird.

  12. It’s funny, me and my dad walk fast (thanks to long legs) and my mom (pushing 5 feet) is usually wagging (a term we use to refer to a weird walking + jogging combo) in an attempt to keep up. My friends always comment on how fast I walk, but if I have to slow down it just feels so weird.

  13. Haha! You are like my mom!! Whenever our whole family’s on the move, she’s 20 steps ahead of us. Like you, I am super indecisive, and I would also LOVE to meet a fellow blogger, such as yourself =). My family and friends def don’t understand this amazing blogging world =).

  14. i love learning fun new facts about fellow bloggers! i’d actually love to meet a fellow blogger, too! i always see fun blogger meet-ups and think it’d be so much fun to meet the people i interact with on an almost daily basis!

  15. yayyy thanks for the tag!! :-D I totally agree about blogging, it’s like a little community and no one gets it unless they join! I want to meet like EVERYONE haha! and yeah, i’m a fast walker too…i can’t stand being behind slow people! huge pet peeve!

  16. Woooh thanks for the nomination :D I walk so fast. There were people in high school that would walk SO.SLOW. And they would be texting at the same time so they wouldn’t even know where they were going.

  17. hahaha I’m the same way – I love talking to strangers and meeting bloggers….are you in Canada ??? we should meet up! ….in non-creepy ways ;)

  18. I’m indecisive too! I go back and forth, back and forth because I just like to give my decisions a lot of thought and do my research. This is great for life altering big decisions but sooooo annoying for little decisions. I can’t even go shopping for something small–nail polish, let’s say–without really debating if it’s a smart purchase or not

  19. I am the same way with the fast walking! My friends in Chile were asking me to slow it down and they are much taller than I am.

  20. I use epic waaay too much to be considered normal & jello scares me :)

  21. I agree. I haven’t gone to a blogger met up but if I ever somehow make my way to Boston, I’ll come and visit you! HLS …. I’m waiting until I get some big bucks before doing so. Having to travel there … the plane ticket sounds costly. /: But I’m so happy for you that you have someone like Jenna! :)

  22. Hahhaa I am the sameee way with walking fast! No one can keep up and when people get in my way… well let’s just say they had better MOVE IT ;)
