I am taking the night off. Bikram totally grounded me for the day and I really needed that. Came back at 730 drenched, rung out my clothes and just breathed. I had no idea how in my head and out of my body I have been. Not good. No wonder I am feeling stress, stomach pain and overall lack of motivation in my wellness. I have a jam packed list I am going to tackle tomorrow. And now with wireless, yes I said WIRELESS internet in the apartment, things should get done quicker. Thanks for hanging in there. It makes me realize why I freaking love this blog community.
Ps. Like my ‘extras’ list? I realized I have not once in these past two weeks done anything or bought anything I actually wanted or what I would consider ‘fun’. That is sad.
Tomorrow is all about refocus. Got a lot planned for the blog.
Questions: What grounds you daily? Do you take time to do something just for you or buy something for you weekly?

I love this, I need to do more grounding for sure. Running helps, blogging REALLY helps. I love blogging, it is my me time.
Couldn’t agree more, I know that is one of the reasons I blog.
I wish I could do yoga. It’s so relaxing. I hope you enjoy your night off.
bikram has been awesome for me, especially last night. I hope you find a studio nearby!
Running. I used to run after work but then I started doing it before and it’s amazing what a different it makes in my day.
Oh gosh I can only run before work, it really gets me going.
you gotta do things for yourself sometimes
those extras sound like good idea!
I know, I just need to make sure I allow myself to have them.
i’m betting the yoga was totally worth it. love the artic zero!!
Now I just wish I could afford arctic zero! Ha!
You deserve some time for yourself (and the “extras” on your list, too,of course!
),Alex! Hope you feel better soon. <3
Aw thanks Kat! I need to remember that.
Do I spy with my little eye unsweetened apple sauce on that list?
. Haha I just bought a pack (well, my mom did with my encouragement) and I have been loving it! You can make some awesome muffins with it too! It’s definitely awesome how centering yoga is. Yoga is truly the only thing that I have found in which I can be totally in tune with my body, and somewhat enjoy it. I am glad you enjoy it so much! Have you ever taken other classes besides Bikram?
Can you believe I had never bought it? I want to start baking more so that is why I am getting it. I have taken Ashtanga and power yoga. I love Ashtanga because of the heat and constant movement. Bikram is so different but I am finally getting into it. (…sneak peak at a post later tonight about it!
ahhhhh Bikram yoga….I need to try that! once my psoas is no longer strained haha. I definitely like to do things that relax/ground me at the end of a crazy week – in college, even though I’d run in the morning, I always like to take an epic nap friday afternoon and then either go for a bike ride or hit the gym for a bit just to sweat off my stress before gearing up to hang out with friends (or stay in and do my homework, not gonna pretend like that didn’t happen um all the time haha). Your to-do list looks EPIC as well, It always feels so good to make huge lists like that and then cross everything off!
I am an epic to do list type person, I always have so much I have to keep track of. I actually found Bikram to be less stretching or at least less fatigue muscle stretching. Other yoga i am in pain after, bikram I feel pain in the moment but after I feel great.
I loved arctic zero when I was in the states. I want it in Canada so badly! I always take time for running which is something for myself
And each night I take time for myself to do my devotions and bible reading!
Those are great things to do for you, sadly arctic zero is so freaking expensive! I rarely buy it.
I take time for myself everyday… and by time, I mean I allow myself a ton of time to eat breakfast in front of the computer, read blogs, and relax before starting the workday. But I don’t feel guilty about it. However, right now I’m in my own head, so I do need to take some real time for myself, go out on a scenic run, and/or buy myself something special.
I like the idea of that.
That is what I do on the weekends, after my run I take time to read blogs, update and relax.
Funny thing is I enjoy yoga, or at least enjoy that I do it, but I am so NOT in the moment and zen when I’m doing it.
I am the same way! stillness is the hardest part.
So great that you already found a good bikram studio! I try to take time for myself each week cause when I don’t, I start getting cranky! Ha
Couldn’t agree more and cranky me is no fun.
oh man Bikram yoga floored me! I was so dead after I went.. but it felt sooo good the next day
Exactly! It is crazy at what one class does. But then you leave amazed.
Yay for bikram and clearing your head! And internet at home must be changing your life!
Oh man I can’t even begin!
